  Director Williams was the first to respond. He got up very quietly and left the room, called security and had every item removed for safekeeping. Then he ordered a security team to the conference room.

  There was a discussion in progress when he returned, a very heated one. Silence fell instantly when the door opened.

  “Hold these men in protective custody!”

  General Thompson was outraged. “What is the meaning of this?”

  Williams looked at him. “Major Trujillo said this was gifts to her family—Earth. She didn’t say the government of the U.S. It’s for all of us and I mean to see to it that everyone gets a chance at any technology that will help the human race.”
